Block Paving Clean & Seal
Block Paving is laid on a bed of sand and the blocks are kept stable and separate by the sand in the joints between each block.
While this can add up to a driveway or patio to be proud of if laid correctly, the joints and the fact that the blocks are porous by nature means it is often a breeding ground for weeds, algae, moss and lichen to form.
Cheshire Drive Cleaning are experts in the cleaning, re-sanding and sealing of block paving. We have the right equipment and the right staff to put your block-paved driveway or patio back to approaching 'new' condition. It really is an amazing transformation!
- We may pre-treat your surface for weeds and/or moss and algae growths and leave it for several days initially if these are a particular problem. Next;
- We clean the surface with our Honda petrol-engined pressure washer and a large rotary head.
- Next, and unique to block paving, we deep-clean all of the joints using a turbo nozzle and lance. This gets out all of the muck and seeds that have gathered in the joints as well as the old sand, leaving it prepared for:
- Re-sanding. Once left for several days to ensure the surface and joints are completely dry, we sweep new kiln-dried sand into the joints. Then,
- On the same day, we apply two coats of Smartseal™ Block Paving Sealer, to protect the surface against those weeds and fungal growths and also grime forming on the surface. All it takes is an occasional hose down and the grime runs off!
This work not only puts your driveway back to a 'like new' condition and protects your investment in having it laid, but it usually lends a 'halo effect' to your whole property, lifting its appearance. This will be apparent to you, your neighbours and visitors and if you're thinking of selling your property, a new-looking drive or patio can be a major selling point.
